The whole series started back in April 17th with a little taste of the action at Deerfoot Casino in Calgary, Alberta. The playing at Playground Club began on April 21st with MILLIONS Open Day 1A, although a few satellites took place before that. Plus, No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha cash games with various stakes levels were also run daily throughout the festival. It amounted to the total number of six events with the guaranteed prize pool of CAD $15 million. The last of those finished on Wednesday May 2nd, including the eagerly anticipated MILLIONS Main Event.

The final glory has been claimed by American player from Santa Cruz, California. Taylor Black doubled his previous overall live earnings by taking home for the first place a handsome sum of CAD $1,400,000, which is over a million US dollars. To achieve that, he had to defeat a well-known professional, Darryll Fish, who certainly gave him a good run for his money. Their heads-up clash lasted over two hours and wasn’t lacking emotions. Chips were changing hands from time to time, but in the end, Black’s pocket aces turned out to be more than enough to claim victory over Fish.

That fact made the tournament podium consist entirely of American players. After Markus Prinz from Germany secured the spot number 4, the rest of paid positions at the final table fell on the Canadian nationals, respectively: Charles La Boissonniere, Demosthenes Kiriopoulos, George Lagos and Tommy Nguyen.
