Guilty of filming under girls’ skirts

Guilty of filming under girls’ skirts

A man who is guilty of sexual assault and voyeurism may serve his sentence intermittently, but he must complete sexual therapy as he himself admitted to having a “problem” because he filmed “below girls’ skirts”.

Cédric Paquette was back in court on Friday as part of the sentencing campaign.

Last March, the 34-year-old Trifluvian had admitted to placing a miniature camera on his shoe, in order to film underneath passers-by’s skirts.

However, the vigilant head of security of the Maison Simons was able to put the police on the track of Paquette who was arrested in April 2014.

Minicamera

According to what was mentioned Friday in court, the man had installed a mini-camera on his shoe and, by placing his feet a certain way, managed to capture images under clients’ clothes.

As a result of a search of the accused’s house, the police were able to locate the famous camera and images of sexual assault committed by Paquette.

On Friday, prosecutor Valérie Lahaie said the assault occurred while the 21-year-old victim was sleeping.

Therapy

Although Paquette has already himself initiated therapy to solve his sexual problems, the probation officer noted that “there was no introspection” and that the therapy should be “better supervised”.

The accused must therefore prove to the court that he successfully completed his therapy within a three-year probationary period with follow-up.

He will also have to do 240 hours of community service and serve his three-month discontinuous sentence.

Moreover, he will be on the sex offender registry in perpetuity.
