Sainte-Therese Gets a New Cultural Venue – Odyscene

The Government of Canada Supports Odyscene.

SAINTE-THÉRÈSE, QUEBEC–(Marketwired – Sept. 22, 2016) – Department of Canadian Heritage.

Ramez Ayoub, Member of Parliament (Thérèse-De Blainville), on behalf of the Honourable Mélanie Joly, Minister of Canadian Heritage, today announced $110,077 in funding for Odyscène.

This support, provided by the Government of Canada through the Canada Cultural Spaces Fund, will enable this organization in Sainte-Thérèse to purchase specialized equipment for a new performance hall, the Cabaret BMO Sainte-Thérèse, which will replace the old Église Sacré-Cœur hall.

Quick Facts

Odyscène is an important part of the cultural scene in the Regional County Municipality of Thérèse-De Blainville. It presents shows in every genre, including original theatre and contemporary dance. It is also known for its presentation of children’s shows.

Acquiring specialized equipment will enable the organization to equip the Cabaret BMO Sainte-Thérèse with acoustic, lighting, projection and stage design systems, as well as new seats. This will be added to equipment salvaged from the old Église Sacré-Cœur hall.

With this new space, Odyscène will add new shows to its annual program lineup, particularly for school groups.
